A NEW TREATMENT SCENARIO IN GENITO-URINARY MALIGNANCIES: from biomolecular issues to clinical decision making

Management of the principal genito-urinary malignancies has undergone major transformations in recent years, due to the advent of several innovative Agents and targeted therapies. The current therapeutic scenario is thus rapidly evolving and new data and standards of care are continuously emerging, requiring an increasingly complex and challenging, management for these patients. Assessment of s proper risk/benefit ratios for the optimal treatment of each patient is increasingly required and therefore a better knowledge of the different clinical and molecular aspects of these diseases is strongly warranted. Results from ongoing and further studies and biomarkers validation are expected to provide more specific treatment options and improved outcomes for the future management of genito-urinary malignancies.
