In case of limitations of number of participants due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, registrants will be admitted based on the “first come-first served” rule (date of registration will be considered), until the maximum number allowed is reached.

Online pre-registrations should be submitted before May 15, 2024 Postopne May 20, 2024. Later registrations are possible on-site only.

Registration fees include: congress bag, badge, attendance certificate, coffee breaks and any other catering services included in the program.

# Registration for Visitors is mandatory. The Visitor Badge gives access to all SMART areas/spaces except for Scientific Halls and Simulation Center.

CANCELLATION POLICY

A 50% refund of the registration fee will be paid ONLY for cancellations notified in writing before April 28, 2024. No refund is due for later cancellations

ABSTRACTS

Participants are invited to submit their scientific papers on anesthesia and/or intensive care topics as oral presentation or posters by completing the online procedure available at

www.smartonweb.org and/or www.startpromotion.it (see details below).

Deadline for abstract submission: April 8, 2024.

Best Abstract Award

During the 35th SMART the best three abstracts presented at the meeting will be awarded. All participants who present an abstract at the meeting, either as oral presentation or poster, are

automatically eligible for the award. Selections will be based on the following two main criteria: quality and scientific relevance, originality of the research.

Award winners will be informed by email and formally invited to attend the Award Ceremony that will take place on Thursday May 30 at h. 18.00 in the Exhibition Area.

In order to receive the award, winners are requested to be registered to the SMART Meeting and must be present at the Award Ceremony.

All prizes are dedicated to Dr. Mario Veronesi and kindly offered by INTERSURGICAL.

Prizes:

  • 1st PRIZE:
    Award Certificate, 1 registration voucher for the next SMART Meeting, monetary award of € 1000.00
  • 2nd PRIZE:
    Award Certificate, 1 registration voucher for the next SMART Meeting, monetary award of € 500.00
  • 3rd PRIZE:
    Award Certificate, 1 registration vouche for the next SMART Meeting, monetary award of € 300.00


Paolo Pelosi Award

Recognizing Excellence in Anesthesia and Intensive Care Research SMART Meeting is proud to announce the inauguration of the Paolo Pelosi Award, created in honour of Prof. Paolo Pelosi and aimed to

acknowledge the contribution of young scientists in the field of Anesthesia and Intensive Care.

The award will be presented to a deserving candidate who satisfies the following criteria:

  • Age under 38 years old
  • Specialization: Anesthesia and Intensive Care
  • Residence: Europe
  • Publications: the candidate must have published

at least 3 original articles in peer-reviewed international journals.

Interested candidates should submit a one-page CV along with a list of publications, highlighting their “top 3” they wish to enter into the award, to info@startpromotion.it by April 25, 2024.

The selection process will be carried out by a distinguished jury, evaluating candidates based on:

  • Novelty of the research
  • Relevance to the field
  • Contribution to advancements

in Anesthesia and Intensive Care

- Number of citations received

The award will be presented during a dedicated scientific session scheduled on Friday May 31 h. 11.30 - 12.30.

The award will consist of:

  • - Monetary award of € 1500.00
  • - Oral presentation at the 35th SMART
  • - Free entry at the 35th SMART
